COACH DAVENPORT

HEAD COACH & FOUNDER

Coach Davenport has been a football player since he was 8 years old. He started his pee wee football career as a running back, quarterback, and line backer. In high school he played quarterback, where he was a First Team All-League, All-Southwest Ohio and All-Regional selection his senior year. He also earned All-League honors as a junior. He attended Miami University and played Defensive Back from 1997-1999. After leaving the game of football after college he started to play flag football from 2001 until 2016. His love for the game started his coaching career as a pee wee football coach in 2006. He is currently the Head Coach a youth football team in Scott County, Kentucky. He has been married for 15 years and has 3 boys.

Our Mission: Rise & Grind Skillz Academy exists to encourage and increase youth participation in football through the highest level of Skillz development. Rise & Grind will also instill life-long values of teamwork, dedication, and a superior work ethic in the classroom and on the playing field.

Our Vision: Rise & Grind Skillz Academy will strive to develop the physical and mental understanding of the game of football. We are dedicated to encouraging our athletes to learn and understand the core fundamentals and skills to excel on the field. We will empower our athletes with a passion and love for the game of football.

Our Philosophy: Rise & Grind Skillz Academy will create an environment where our athletes develop a love of the game of football. We will maintain an environment that will teach a progressive, intelligent, and physical style of football created on a foundation of solid technical Skillz.

Bonding, learning proper technique and fundamentals are some of the great attributes about this program. Having someone that's played at a high level instructing the drills makes it even better. Come ready to learn and get better!! Beast Mode💪💪💪

Both of my sons (7th grade & 5th grade) attended the academy and used the skills they learned during the football season. The fundamentals that were drilled into them from having the correct stance and footwork to more advanced things like tracking the ball and which hip to attack while they are in coverage helped my sons stand out this season. I'd suggest everyone to put their kids through this training.
